LAHORE:

As Pakistan moves towards adopting mobile broadband technology, many companies are knocking on the doors of the economy, seeking a share in the growing e-commerce market.

Sparklist is the latest to join the market as a mobile app meant to connect buyers and sellers on one platform.

Nalla Karunanithy, a veteran tech-entrepreneur and global managing director and founder at Sparklist, identifies Pakistan as “one of the most promising markets for establishing an online, peer-to-peer, buying and selling platform”.

With only 4.5% of the population in Pakistan using smartphones at the moment, the market is destined to grow. Sparklist connects the most relevant buyers to the most relevant sellers by sorting products based on location. Sparklist also simplifies online buying and selling through an interface design that deconstructs the process into four palatable steps - snap a photograph of the product you wish to sell, add a description, set the price; and bargain until you find that price. “Sparklist is the natural evolution of Classifieds, bringing simplicity and locality to discovering, selling and chatting to buy,” said Karunanithy.
