ISLAMABAD:

The Tarnol police claimed to have solved a murder case by arresting an alleged killer who had murdered his father over a property dispute.

According to a police spokesperson, Akhtar Nawaz, a resident of ‘Nogazi’ Islamabad, was killed by his son Nowshad Nawaz after the late Akhtar Nawaz had disowned him.

On October 14, an FIR was registered by the police on the complaint of Malik Mumtaz, the brother of late Nawaz, who had nominated Nowshad in the murder case.

According to the complainant, Nowshad was disinherited by his father for his disobedience.

The police said the alleged killer has been arrested and a 30-bore pistol, used in the crime, was also recovered from his possession. Further investigation is under way, the police said.

Meanwhile, the Khanna police have registered a case against two accused, Faisal and Saad, for allegedly stealing eight cattle from a cattle pen.

The Bhara Kahu police arrested Shirafat Hussain with a Klashinkov from Kalma Chowk while the Karachi Company police held Tauqir Ali with a 30-bore pistol.

Meanwhile, thieves made away with gold ornaments and cash from a house in the police jurisdiction of Industrial Area. Cases have been registered and further investigations are under way.
