FO says Pakistan is willing to hold talks with India, provided there are no pre-conditions and Kashmir is on the table

Pakistan is willing to hold talks with India, provided there are no pre-conditions and Kashmir is included on the agenda, Foreign Office Spokesperson Qazi Khaliullah reiterated Thursday.

"It is not advisable to have a selective approach to Ufa understanding between the two countries," Khaliullah was reported as saying by Radio Pakistan.

He pointed out that the joint press release issued at Ufa called for a comprehensive agenda including discussion on all outstanding issues, counter terrorism, confidence building measures, peace and security, Line of Control, Working Boundary and cooperation within the framework of SAARC.

"India has been accusing Pakistan of supporting non-state actors for terrorism," he said, adding that "majority of terrorist incidents staged by India on its soil to implicate and malign Pakistan have proved to be fake."

He further stated that the international community is aware that state actors [in India] have been involved in destabilising and fomenting terrorism in neighbouring countries including Pakistan, also saying that "Pakistan expects India not to allow use of its soil for hatching conspiracies against Pakistan."

With recent allegations of the presence of Islamic State group in Pakistan, he said there "no footprints of IS in Pakistan."

Commenting on India's confirmation of a Baloch activist's presence in New Delhi, he said Pakistan has given three dossiers to the UN Secretary-General with evidence of India's involvement in Balochistan and Karachi and fomenting terrorism by supporting Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan.

He further expressed hope that the Afghan government would take up the issue with India to ensure that its national living in India is not used for fomenting terrorism in Pakistan.

To questions pertaining to peace talks in Afghanistan, Khaliullah said "Pakistan is ready to host another round of talks if the Afghan Government wants that. Pakistan firmly believes that reconciliation is the only way forward for peace in that country."

The spokesperson also termed Afghan allegations of Pakistan supporting militants as 'unfounded'. He also reiterated that non-interference in internal affairs of Afghanistan is key pillar of Pakistan's Afghan policy.

"We are fully committed not to allow our territory to be used against any other country including Afghanistan. Pakistan has also said that occupation of Afghan territory by force by any group is condemnable," he said.

Following India's remarks that Pakistan was raising the Kashmir issue in UN was 'clear interference', the spokesperson said "Kashmiris are directly affected by the dispute and termed the issue as "state terrorism."

Terming the Hurriyat as the main representative of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, the spokesperson confirmed that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif invited its leader to visit Pakistan to exchange views on the current situation in Kashmir.

Concluding, he said Pakistan condemns Israeli settlements in Arab occupied lands and reiterated that Pakistan considers self-determination as inalienable right of people of Palestine.
