Armed Forces fully prepared to respond to any challenge, says naval chief

Pakistan is a peace loving country and seeks harmonious and peaceful co-existence with all other countries, he says

Naval Chief Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah said Wednesday that Pakistan Armed Forces are fully prepared to respond to any challenge that comes in the way of our peace-loving country.

“Our valiant armed forces are fully geared-up to give a befitting response in case of any misadventure,” Radio Pakistan quoted Zakaullah as saying. The naval chief was addressing a passing out parade at the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) Academy in Risalpur earlier today.

While claiming that Pakistan is a peace loving country and seeks harmonious and peaceful co-existence with all other countries, he warned that “our desire for peace must not be construed as a sign of weakness".

The naval chief went on to say that any attempt to intimidate Pakistan would neither succeed nor serve the purpose of peace and prosperity in the region.

“In the current security scenario, certain extremist elements abetted externally are out to disrupt our peace and harmony,” Zakaullah said, claiming that the country’s defence forces supported by the nation are fighting the menace of terrorism bravely and effectively.

The naval chief further said that the PAF has extended all out support to the army in combating anti-state elements in operation Zarb-e-Azb.

“Led from the front PAF has made significant and meaningful contributions in the success of on-going operation against terrorists,” he concluded.
