Follow up: Update sought on APS children’s treatment

Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Salman Rafiq said the expenses would be borne by the provincial government

A report on the condition of the Army Public School children under treatment at hospitals in the city should immediately be sent to Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif, Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Salman Rafiq said on Wednesday.


He was addressing a meeting to review treatment of injured school children at the Civil Secretariat.

He said that if needed the children would be sent abroad for treatment. He said the expenses would be borne by the provincial government.

Earlier, Allama Iqbal Medical College principal Mehmood Shaukat informed the meeting that medical and diagnostic reports regarding treatment of the injured children had been sent to consultants abroad for review.

He said a course of action would be devised for the treatment of the children based on the experts’ recommendations.

Health Secretary Jawwad Rafiq Malik, Health DG Zahid Pervaiz and Mayo Hospital Medical Superintendent Amjad Shehzad were also present.
