RAWALPINDI:

Rawalpindi police have rescued a three-year-old girl who was kidnapped from Karachi for a ransom of Rs5 million. The child was recovered from Ghaziabad within the jurisdiction of RA Bazar Police Station following a joint operation by Dhimal and RA Bazar police teams, acting on information provided by Karachi police.

The rescued girl, Nazia, had been abducted on March 11 from a slum area in Gulshan-e-Maymar, Karachi, by unidentified suspects. Her father, Muhammad Allah Khan, had filed a kidnapping case and reported that the abductors demanded Rs5 million in ransom.

Karachi police advised the father to cooperate with negotiations while tracing the suspects' location with the help of the technical wing. Upon receiving detailed information, Karachi police coordinated with Rawalpindi officers, who tasked Dhimal and RA Bazar police with ensuring the child's safe recovery.

According to police sources, the child's father is a scrap dealer and the kidnapping had caused widespread panic in the local area. The operation was successful after receiving intelligence that the kidnapped girl was in Rawalpindi and she was safely recovered and handed over to Karachi police.

A spokesperson for Rawalpindi police confirmed that the kidnapping case, registered as FIR number 139 of 26 at Gulshan-e-Maymar Police Station, Karachi, has been handed over and Karachi police officers transported the child back to Karachi yesterday.
