Eid preparations: Animal waste to be properly managed

RAWALPINDI: Cantonment authorities have announced plans for proper collection and disposal of waste as a result of the upcoming animal sacrifices on Eidul Azha.

According to a senior Rawalpindi Cantonment Board official, the city has been divided into six zones, with inspectors given charge for each jurisdiction. These inspectors will ensure the proper collection and disposal of animal waste during the three days of Eid.

Citizens may also dispose of the waste using bins installed in their respective areas, instead of throwing the waste in deserted locations, the official added.

Zone-I, under the supervision of inspectors Najib and Muhammad Akhtar Jan, consists of Haathi Chowk, Gawalmandi, Bank Road, Roomi Park, Gakhar Plaza and Chota Bazaar.

In Zone-II, the areas of Tench Bhatta, Bakra Mandi and Chungi-22 will be supervised by Inspector Muhammad Akhtar.

Zone-III comprises Abid Majid Road, Kiyani Road, Azizabad, RA Bazaar, Mughalabad, Adra, General Headquarters and Wagon Stop, and will be supervised by inspector Shahid Mahmood.

Zone-IV will be supervised by inspector Abid Javed. Areas under his supervision include Allama Iqbal Colony, Quaid-e-Azam Colony, Ahmedabad, Kamalabad and Dhoke Chaudhrian.

In Zone-V, the areas of Main Peshawar Road, Lane-1 to Lane-7, Choor Chowk, Dhoke Gujran, Misrial, Dhoke Mustaqeem, Chishtiabad and Friends Colony will be supervised by inspector Raja Asif Aziz.

Zone-VI will be supervised by inspectors Humayun, Pervez, Muhammad Rayan and Tauqeer Ahmed. Areas under their supervision are Westridge-III, Allahabad, Hafizabad, Westridge Bazaar, Habib Colony, Nisar Park, Bakery Chowk, Naseerabad, Qasimabad, British Homes, and Race Course.
