Teachers’: Foundation Govt allocates Rs100m

Teachers have hailed the step taken by the provincial chief minister for the welfare of the teachers and their family

The Punjab government has allocated Rs100 million for the newly established Teachers’ Foundation. The foundation has been set up with an aim to look after the welfare of teachers working across the province and their families in time of need.


According to a senior official in the Rawalpindi education department, the foundation will start functioning from January 2016 and for this purpose, Rs10 would also be deducted from salaries of primary school teachers, Rs20 from middle school and Rs50 would be deducted from salaries of high school teachers every month.

According to the official, outstanding students of the teachers would be provided with scholarships from the foundation’s fund besides giving money to teachers for funeral and marriage purposes.

Meanwhile, teachers have hailed the step taken by the provincial chief minister for the welfare of the teachers and their families.
