Health facility: Hospital to be set up at police lines

LAHORE:

The government will set up a 40-bed hospital at Police Lines at a cost of Rs106 million, Adviser to Chief Minister on Health Khawaja Salman Rafique said on Wednesday.

He was presiding over a meeting at the Directorate General of Health Services.

“The hospital will become operational within two years. It will provide healthcare facilities to policemen and their families,” he said.

Operations DIG Dr Haider Ashraf and Health Services Director Abdul Majeed Chaudhry attended the meeting.

Chaudhry briefed the meeting about the project. “A building for this purpose is already available at the police lines. It will be a referral hospital and will have CT scan, ultrasound, ECG, X-ray machines and a pathology lab. Specialist doctors of surgery, gynecology and pediatrics will be posted there,” he said.

Rafique said that Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had taken steps for the welfare of police officials and their families.
