Police register case, launch raids to arrest suspect

Police have registered a case and launched raids to arrest a suspect after a bus hostess was allegedly sexually assaulted in the Pirwadhai area of Rawalpindi.

According to police, the complainant, identified as R.S, stated in her report that she belongs to Layyah district and works as a bus hostess on various company buses. She had gone to her village in Layyah on leave and was returning to Rawalpindi by bus last night.

She said that due to a road closure, she had to disembark at Tarnol, where she contacted a man named Ashraf. He brought her in his vehicle to Pirwadhai and dropped her at Gilani Hotel before leaving.

Due to fatigue, she rented a room on the first floor of the hotel to rest. Shortly after, there was a knock on the door. When she opened it, a suspect named in the FIR allegedly forced his way into the room, covered her mouth to silence her, and made her inhale something that rendered her unconscious.

She alleged that in that state, the suspect sexually assaulted her and fled, leaving her unconscious. She further claimed that the accused inflicted injuries on various parts of her body with his nails. Police have registered a case and initiated an investigation.

The victim's name has been withheld to protect identity.
