Heinous crime: Teenage girl assaulted by neighbours

FAISALABAD:

A girl was kidnapped and raped by three men near Mamu Kanjan police station, her family said on Thursday.

Fateh Muhammaad told The Express Tribune his 15-year-old niece was returning home on Wednesday evening when three residents of the neighbourhood abducted her.

“They took her to a deserted house outside the neighbourhood where they raped her,” he said.

He said the men had left her in front of her house early on Thursday morning.

“Some passers by spotted her in the street and called us,” he said.

Muhammad said she was taken to Civil Hospital in Mamu Kanjan.

The Mamu Kanjan SHO told The Express Tribune that an FIR had been registered against the suspects on Muhammad’s complaint.

He said a police team had been formed to apprehend the suspects.

He said the men had been arrested and had claimed during interrogation that they had been implicated in a false case on account of an old enmity. They said they did not rape her.
