ISLAMABAD:

The men that allegedly assaulted an on-duty traffic constable and later fled from the scene were arrested on Thursday. On April 16, Fahad Malik and Malik Usman were sitting in a white BMW parked in the middle of a busy road in F-11 Markaz and holding up traffic. They allegedly thrashed Constable Fazal Malik after he told them to move their car. They also called three other men to help them.

The constable suffered injuries on the fingers, hand and face. The Shalimar police had registered a case.

On May 21, they approached the IHC to extend bail, but when the case was taken up, they withdrew their application and were arrested by the police.

Sources claimed that the men had struck a deal with the police thanks to the intervention of ‘influential persons’ and things would soon be settled.
