SARGODHA: Livestock Additional Secretary Ashiq Hussain Dogar on Thursday distributed 200 cattle among widows.

The cattle distribution ceremony was held at the Jinnah Hall Company Bagh.


Sargodha DCO Saqib Manan, Livestock Director Dr Abdul Rauf and the agriculture and finance EDOs also attended the ceremony.


Manan said distribution of cattle among widows would help mitigate poverty and improve living standard.


Rauf said in the first stage, 100 buffloes and 100 sheep were distributed among the widows. He said 1,100 cattle would be distributed over two years. He said cattle would be distributed among women less than 60 years old who did not own agricultural land. He said the Livestock Department had received 511 applications.
