It’s an unsaid thing that lyrics play a dominant role when a song is being composed. No matter how soulful the music is, lyrics are what turn an ordinary song into a classic. If there was one word to describe the Bollywood songs of today it is definitely this: senseless.

Consider the song Tumse Milne Ka Keeda Andar Hai and you will know what we mean. Remember that dialogue from Kabhi Khushi Kabhi ghum, 'Bus keejiye bohat hogaya'? The following 13 songs will make you say that on repeat:

1. Pinky Hai Paisey Walon Ki

From the movie Zanjeer, Pinky, created a lot of hype. Played by Priyanka Chopra, Pinky defines gold digger in a not so subtle way.

2. Ooh la la

From the film The Dirty Picture, this song takes the title very seriously.

3. Chikni Chameli

Agneepath was one of the most serious films of 2012 produced by the mighty Karan Johar. We agree that this song was a major hit but it has, and will continue to irk women till the end of time.

4. Halkat Jawani

Item bana ke rakh ley chakhna bana ke chakh ley, the daughter-in-law of the Pataudi clan, Kareena Kapoor Khan, needs to be a little more picky about her song selections.

5Munni Badnam

Nobody can ever forget this song. From a paan stall to an elite wedding ceremony, this song has been played everywhere. The only confusion is, how can a girl be jhandu balm, cinema hall, and what not?

6. Don't Touch My Body

Tu samjha ke dil humra hai rabdi-malaai, Wow! Could the songwriters be anymore desperate?

7Fevicol Se

Main toh tandoori murgi hun gatka le saiyaan alcohol se or patale saiyaan miss call se. This 'extremely' poetic song is written by three masterminds. Let's hope they seek another path really soon.

8. Pritam Pyare

Pallu key neechey chupa key rakha hai dikha dun to hungama ho. Enough said.

9. Kaddu Katega

R..Rajkumar had a couple of famous, but indecent, songs. This one in particular catches the eye, and ears.

10. Laila teri le legi

Only the makers of the film can explain the meaning of this song from Shootout At Wadala and the reason for composing it.

11. Tooh

Let's not deny that 4 out of 5 of us have shaken a leg to this song. All the boys go crazy when I shake that.. a little awkward isn't it?

12. Mutton Song

Taking mutton to an extremely new level, Mera jism jism, Mera badan badan, Arre main hoon taaza mutton mutton, this Mutton song needs to be erased from Bollywood's history.

13. Tumse milnay ka keeda andar hai

"Bus keejiye, bohat hogaya", well-said Jaya Bachchan.

A moment of silence on the death of soulful lyrics.

Pity | 8 years ago | Reply Says a lot about the rape culture prevalent in India
Rumormonger | 8 years ago | Reply Sadly, women are being presented as objects to be ravished, like like mutton and murgh. I wonder if a song with the B-word (beef) would catch the ear of some sena-ite and slow down this deterioration. Bollywood music is so much better than any music anywhere. Why is being tainted with songs like these.
