Christian boy kidnapped from Nowshera found dead

PESHAWAR: A Christian boy kidnapped from Nowshera district of Khyber Pkahtunkhwa (K-P) was found dead in Azakhel village of the district on Thursday.

The boy identified as Somal Masahih was kidnapped on August 25, 2014.

Talking to The Express Tribune, All Pakistan Hindu Rights Movement chairman Haroon Sarbdyal (APHRM) said the boy's family was informed about the body's presence in Azzakhel police station.

“The body was handed over to the heirs when they reached the police station,” said Sarbdyal.

He claimed that previously a Hindu boy named Hamraj was killed in a similar fashion in Nowshera, and now another boy from Christian community had been abducted and killed by the kidnappers.

“Our lives are not safe and violence against religious minorities is on the rise across the province,” he added.
