'Hit-list': Islamic State calls upon ‘brothers in America’ to kill 100 US soldiers

Militant group issues ‘hit-list’ that comprises photographs and addresses of US military men

WASHINGTON: The Islamic State (IS), in its fresh terror spree, has called upon their ‘brothers in America’ to kill 100 US Army members, issuing a ‘hit-list’ that comprises their photographs and addresses.

It was published online by the so-called 'Islamic State Hacking Division' which claimed hacking many military servers and other crucial online information to gain access to whereabouts of the officers.

Worryingly, the list did appear to coincide with the information available on the web, a report stated.

It further read: 'With the huge amount of data we have from various different servers and databases, we have decided to leak 100 addresses so that our brothers in America can deal with you. And now we have made it easy for you by giving you addresses, all you need to do is take the final step, so what are you waiting for?

Provoking their aides more, the hacking division said, 'Kill them in their own lands, behead them in their own homes, stab them to death as they walk their streets thinking that they are safe.'

Shaken by this development, the Defense Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation are looking into the matter, a renowned US daily reported.

Speaking to the media, an official said the data can be found in public records, residential address, through the search engines and on the social media.

It seemed the IS wanted to avenge the airstrikes on its militants as it listed many of the personnel that were mentioned in news articles about these attacks.

A defense department official, requesting anonymity, said: "I can't confirm the validity of the information, but we are looking into it; we always encourage our personnel to exercise appropriate OPSEC [operations security] and force protection procedures."

Interestingly, the faces of the female personnel that were on the list were blurred out.
