The family requested for the release of her body following the continued investigations into the murder.

LAHORE: 20-year-old model Abeera's body was handed over to her family who will be traveling to Sialkot for her burial, Express News reported on Saturday. 

The family had requested for the release of her body following the continued investigations into the murder case. The body was released to the family under the supervision of Lahore magistrate.

The main suspect in the murder case, Izma Rao alias Tooba, had confessed to killing the Lahore-based model by poisoning her yoghurt. Initial forensic reports of the 20-year-old also confirmed the cause of death as poisoning.

Police had produced Tooba in court and following the completion of the investigation, they seized the poison that was used to murder the model.

The Deputy Superintendent present at the time of the release of Abeera's body said that the FIR's against the three accomplices in the case, Tooba, Zeeshan and Farooq, would be submitted in court next week.
