The homepage of the social networking site shows the map of world with an IS logo over all continents.
However, Khelafabook, which resembles Facebook, is currently down. The message on the site’s main page reads that the site has been temporarily shut down to protect the identity and info of its members.
The site claimed that it is an independent organisation and is not sponsored by the Islamic State. The purpose of launching the website is to allow the group and its supporters to communicate after numerous pro-IS accounts were suspended on social networking sites, such as Twitter and Facebook, a message on the site read.
According to a study conducted by the Brookings Institution, at least 46,000 Twitter accounts are linked to supporters of the Islamic State.

The study found that even though many accounts were suspended by the messaging platform, the number remained high.
“From September through December 2014, the authors estimate that at least 46,000 Twitter accounts were used by IS supporters, although not all of them were active at the same time,” the report said.

The website is currently available in Arabic and English. A twitter account linked to the new IS social networking site has already started promoting the page on Twitter.
