FAISALABAD:

Former Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah Khan said the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) activists resorted to firing, created law and order situation and forcibly blocked roads to create chaos in Faisalabad in line with the ‘Plan-C’ of Imran Khan.

Addressing a press conference on Tuesday along with other ruling party MNAs and MPAs, he denied his or any other PML-N leader’s hand in Monday’s firing incident in which a PTI worker, Haq Nawaz, was killed.

Blaming the PTI for forcibly paralysing the normal life of Faisalabad on Monday, he claimed that everything was normal and all the shops and markets were open, traffic flow was normal, schools and other educational institutions were running classes till 11am. But, as planned by the PTI, its activists then started burning tyres and forcibly blocked traffic at Millat Chowk, Abdullah Pur Chowk and then at Novelty Bridge.

The police and administration, Sanaullah insisted, have not created any obstacle in the way of all such unlawful acts. Thereafter the PTI workers – who were armed with kerosene oil, sticks and clubs – indulged in firing, hurling stones on police and damaging the property as well.

Sanaullah went on to say that in the midst of hooliganism and riots, resorted to by the PTI, Haq Nawaz was killed.

“We did not know who opened the fire but I suspect that it might be a PTI man or someone belonging to some terrorist organisation,” Rana Sanaullah asserted, adding that only through firing incident and securing a dead body in self-created clash, the PTI forcefully shut down Faisalabad.

Showing to the media the pictures of a man in dark gray Shalwar Qameez and a revolver in his hand, Sanaullah contended that the man nominated in the FIR by the PTI as, Nadeem Mughal, Imtiaz, Arshad Siddiqui and Malik Zahid, none of them has any resemblance with him.

The PML-N senior leader said: “In the FIR, Imtiaz was nominated as the accused who was firing directly, but actually his face and body structure is entirely different from the man shown by the electronic media.”

Rana Sanaullah maintained: “The evidence clearly indicates that the PTI has just nominated myself and other leaders of the PML-N and activists in a murder charge for political point-scoring and to defame us before the public.”

He further claimed “Imran is pursuing agenda of confrontation and all his earlier plans have failed and in a desperate mode he has now started playing politics on dead bodies.”
