KARACHI: Traffic woes continued in most parts of Karachi on the second day of the 8th International Defence Exhibition and Seminar (IDEAS) held at city's Expo Centre as major roads leading to the venue remained blocked, Express News reported on Tuesday.

Frustration rose as commuters faced difficulty using their usual routes to get to work and school. Heavy traffic was seen on University Road, Rashid Minhas Road and Dalmia Road which are used as alternate routes by many.

Traffic police are reportedly nowhere to be seen, making the commute more difficult for many.

The four-day exhibition is showcasing defence equipment including aircraft, tanks, ammuntion, APCs and ship building and communications-related equipment of 232 companies of the world, including 77 Pakistani firms.

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif inaugurated the exhibition yesterday and had said that the nation was committed to provide its defenders with all the necessary resources for its vital mission.

Forget that, expo is being held at expo centre but our 'youthful and efficient and brave' chief minister decided to container-block the road in front of his gate. Of course, two other things happened, no police were deputed to handle the traffic on sheikh zayed road; and our enlightened awaam took hardly any time in creating a traffic jam by going the wrong way. Its honestly not about DIG traffic; jaisee awaam, wesay tullay, wesay hukumraan.
