Imran Farooq murder case: MET Police appeals for information

4,466 persons have been interrogated while 7,401 documents reviewed and 3,900 statements recorded to date.

LONDON: The Metropolitan Police on Tuesday said that while it had arrested two men in connection with Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) deputy convener Dr Imran Farooq, but on the fourth anniversary of his murder, appealed for further cooperation to resolve the case.

In a statement issued on the fourth death anniversary of MQM’s deputy convenor, MET Police said they were determined to arrest the murderers of Dr Farooq and were investigating the case from different angles.

As many as 4,466 persons have been interrogated while 7,401 documents were reviewed and 3,900 statements recorded as part of the investigation.

The police said they had arrested two suspects in connection with the murder but had been released on bail, adding that they were in constant contact with Pakistani officials.

MET police also appealed to the public to cooperate with authorities to bring the culprits to book.

It may be recalled that Dr Imran Farooq was murdered in London while on his way back from work on September 16 in 2010.
