Former law minister Rana Sanaullah visited the dispatch centre at Al-Fateh Sports Complex at Saleemi Chowk on Satiana Road.
He was told that each food packet consisted of five kilogrammes flour, rice, gram pulses, sugar, vegetable oil, dates, biscuits, tea packets, rusk and other food items.
Sanaullah appreciated efforts and arrangements of the district administration and urged them to continue relief efforts with the same zeal.
He said the government had mobilised all its resources for help and rehabilitation of flood victims.
He said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif and Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif had visited flood-hit areas to supervise relief operations and to condole with those who had lost their homes in the calamity. He said flood victims would not be left alone during this crisis and compensation would be provided by the government.
He said efforts of philanthropists and welfare organisations should also be appreciated. He said industrialists and traders of Faisalabad had always extended generous support during such crises.
DCO Noorul Amin Mengal informed Sanaullah that the district administration with the assistance of philanthropists had dispatched nearly 35 trucks carrying food items and medicines to Jhang, Chiniot and Hafizabad.
