The managing director of the Pakistan Baitul Maal (PBM) Barrister Abid Waheed Sheikh visited the flood hit areas of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) on Thursday and distributed cheques to families of the deceased and those who lost their houses in the floods. Sheikh visited Plandri, along with AJK Member Legislative Assembly Dr Muhammad Najeeb Naqi Khan and local public representatives, which was one of the worst hit areas as torrential rains and landslides flattened several houses. At the visit, Sheikh announced that PBM will not stop here and continue to help and support the affectees till they are rehabilitated. He further announced that children, who lost their parents, will be taken to PBM Sweet Homes while the elderly will be accommodated in the old homes. Similarly, women will be given vocational training by PBM so they can live a decent life through self-employment.
