ISLAMABAD:

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Tuesday  indicated chances of  rain-thundershower at isolated places of Punjab, Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir on Independence Day.

The Met Office said moderate monsoon currents are likely to penetrate Northeast Pakistan in the next couple of days and produce isolated rain-thundershowers in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Lahore, Sargodha, Malakand, Hazara and Peshawar divisions and Kashmir on Wednesday and Thursday.

A westerly wave is expected to grip upper parts of the country on Friday and due to monsoon currents and westerly wave, rain-thundershowers accompanied with windstorms are predicted for K-P, Upper Punjab, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir from Friday to Sunday.

The rain-thundershower would subside the prevailing hot and humid  conditions during the  weekend.
