PTA directs mobile phone companies to suspend services on Sunday

PTA is yet to announce the cities in which services will be suspended on account of Youm-e-Ali.

LAHORE: Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has directed mobile phone companies to take necessary steps to suspend mobile phone services on account of Youm-e-Ali in certain cities on Sunday, July 20, Express News reported. 

PTA is yet to announce the cities in which services will be suspended.

Earlier,  Express News had reported that mobile phone services will be suspended in Lahore and Karachi.

Pillion riding will also be banned on Sunday for 24 hours in Lahore.

The ban on pillion riding and the suspension of mobile phone services will begin around 8am -- before the start of the rally -- and will resume following the end of the rally.

Sunday marks the 21st of Ramazan.

PTA have only one work to do. Suspend the service at any time.
