BANNU:

Seven men were arrested on Saturday in Bannu when police spotted them taking ration and food items while pretending to be internally displaced persons (IDP) from North Waziristan.

Saddar police official Yasin Kamal said based on intelligence information, they deployed several officials in plain clothes in and around a ration depot established in Ziyad Akram Khan Sports Complex for the IDPs of North Waziristan.

Kamal added that one of the police officials spotted a man taking ration from the depot on a fake IDP registration card. The policeman immediately arrested the culprit and shifted him to the police station for investigation.

According to Kamal, during initial investigation, the accused identified six more men from Bannu city carrying fake IDP cards and standing in the queue to receive ration. “All the six identified persons were booked and security measures were tightened at the ration point,” said Kamal.

Separate cases were filed against the accused.

Oh ya! Opportunist are always waiting around the corner in out country. Be happy he didn't rob the poor IDPs. Such people have robbed 2010 flood victims of their belongings soon after they come out of water.
