A consumer court issued arrest warrants for the chief executive officer of a leather goods manufacturing company for not attending court hearings.

Petitioner Mubashar Ahmad had filed a complaint that he had bought a pair of shoes for Rs3,000 that had gotten ripped before the warranty period ended.

He said that when he contacted the shopkeeper about the shoes, he refused to exchange or repair them. The court summoned the chief executive officer of the company who did not appear in court. The presiding officer of the consumer court issued orders to the relevant police station to arrest the CEO and present him in court on June 27.
