The district administration has decided to constitute an anti-quackery committee. The decision was taken at a Punjab Healthcare Commission (PHC) meeting. to review possible steps to eradicate quackery from the city.

The committee will review the effectiveness of actions taken against quacks in Lahore on a monthly basis. It will also make recommendations for the course of action to be adopted. Collaboration needed between the Punjab Healthcare Commission and the district management was also discussed. The meeting was chaired by the PHC Chief Operating Officer Muhammad Ajmal Khan and attended by DCO Ahmed Javed Qazi, Health Executive District Officer Dr Zulfiqar Ali and other Punjab Healthcare Commission officers. The participants were appraised of the Punjab Healthcare Commission’s strategy to abolish quackery and the actions taken in this regard in the province, particularly in Khanewal where the district coordination officer had initiated a crackdown against quacks in collaboration with the Punjab Healthcare Commission.
