Demanding justice: Relatives of murdered girl demand arrest of killers

Family members of a girl, who was shot dead in Miyal village of Chauntra, staged a protest against police for not arresting the killers by putting the body in the middle of Katcheri Chowk here on Friday.


The charged protesters blocked Katcheri Chowk alleging that police were reluctant to arrest the killers who already have killed many of the girl’s relatives.

They demanded immediate arrest of killers.

The city witnessed worst traffic jam at Katcheri Chowk. Later, the protestors dispersed to offer funeral for the deceased in Miyal village.

Police said a 17-years-old girl named Aqeela Bibi daughter of Fazal Hussain was shot and killed in her home in Miyal village in the jurisdiction of Chontra Police Station on Thursday night.

The reason behind the murder was old enmity between two rival groups — Javed group and Imtiaz group, informed police.

Chontra Police Station SHO Malik Rafaqat said the police had registered a murder case against seven accused belonged to Imtiaz group including the group leader Imtiaz. Rafaqat claimed that several raiding teams have been constituted to arrests the murderers.
