FAISALABAD:

A young woman was allegedly gang raped by two men near Ghulam Muhammadabad police station.

The police said Bagh Ali and his accomplice Sarwar assaulted a young married woman from Mohallah Faizabad and fled.

Muhammad Ali, a relative of the victim, told newsmen that the woman was alone at home when the men stormed into the house.

“They overpowered the woman and raped her,” he said.

He said the men fled when she started screaming loudly.

He said neighbours heard the commotion and rushed to the house.

They took the woman to a hospital. Doctors at the hospital later said her condition was stable.

Ghulam Muhammadabad Station House Officer (SHO) said the police had registered a case and was waiting for the medico-legal report after which further action would be taken.

He said a team had also been formed to trace the men.
