KARACHI: Two women were killed in a shooting incident near Korangi Crossing within the limits of Korangi Industrial Area police station on Saturday. The deceased woman was identified as 50-year-old Saeeda Bano, wife of Omar Din. Meanwhile, Bano’s 18-year-old niece, Insha, died of a heart attack following the incident.

The incident occurred when she, along with her family and relatives, was returning from a picnic at the Clifton beach on Saturday night. Their families said that unidentified assailants tried to intercept their vehicle. They opened fire as the driver tried to escape.

As a result of the firing, Saeeda Bano was killed while her niece died of a heart attack after she saw her aunt breathe her last. Their families staged a protest against the incident and shouted slogans against the police. They said that the incident occurred due to the unavailability of police in the area.
