Rangers raid: Suspect involved in attack on Justice Baqir killed

KARACHI: One of the suspects allegedly involved in the attack on Justice Maqbool Baqir was killed last night during a raid by Rangers personnel in Karachi, Express News reported on Saturday.

The raid was conducted on a tip-off in the Lyari area of the city. The suspect, identified as Qari Noshad, opened fired at the Rangers officials while trying to escape, resulting in one of the officials getting injured. In retaliatory firing by Rangers personnel Noshad was shot dead.

On 26 June last year, a bomb blast in Karachi had injured Justice Baqir and killed eight security personnel. Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) had claimed responsibility for the attack.

Rangers recovered a large cache of weapons and hand grenades from the suspect's possession. The weapons included six rockets and a rocket launcher.
