RAWALPINDI:
The police have failed to track down the suspected killer of two boys dumped in a forest near Murree.
The children’s father alleged that the police were deliberately delaying the killer’s arrest, who was roaming freely in the area. “The investigation teams are limited to city areas as they don’t go up in the mountains where he is hiding,” said a grief-stricken Ziaur Rahman.
Rahman’s three sons were taken for an outing by their uncle Nadeem Khan, who killed two of them and seriously injured the third, according to Zain, the survivor. He said Zain was stable and he said he had to attend to his son in the hospital due to which he could not visit the police stations.
Murree SHO Chaudhry Safdar said there was no progress, but he denied that the police was not making any effort to arrest the killer. “Police teams have raided Khan’s house more than a dozen times.” He claimed he had raided his house in the mountains.
“A team comprising a sub-inspector has been sent to Karachi, while two teams from the Abbottabad and Murree police are following up on clues.” The team in Karachi will trace the numbers the killer was in contact with before committing the crime.
