KARACHI: Two suspected robbers were killed in an exchange of fire with the police in Karachi's Surjani Town area, Express News reported on Saturday.

A police officer was also injured during the exchange.

District West SSP Irfan Baloch confirmed that the two deceased were trying to rob a Suzuki pickup and opened fire when the police attempted to stop them.

After which, the police resorted to retaliatory firing, killing the two robbers. Weapons were also seized from the deceased.

Earlier today, a firing incident in the same area left four people injured.

Unidentified persons reportedly fired on four people as they were passing through Sector 7-D of Surjani Town. Three of the victims were identified as Shaan, his wife and their nephew Waqas. The last victim was not identified until filing of this report.

The victims were taken to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for treatment, and Shaan's wife and nephew are reportedly in critical condition. The reason for the attack is not known at this time.
