Clean and Green Islamabad: First phase of campaign ends

Civic agency carries out repair work on infrastructure and cleanliness drive in sectors I-9, I-10, G-10, F-6 and F-7.

The Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday completed the first phase of its “Clean and Green Islamabad” campaign. As part of the drive, the civic agency carried out repair work on infrastructure and a cleanliness drive in sectors I-9, I-10, G-10, F-6 and F-7.


The concluding ceremony of the first phase was attended by senators Farhatullah Babar and Osman Saifullah besides representatives of traders, civic society and other CDA officials. Senator Babar said that all segments of society were equal stakeholders for the betterment of the city. He said environmental issues transcended all classes and political parties.

Senator Osman Saifullah said “All of us jointly own the capital city and this joint ownership puts a heavy responsibility on all of us
to work together for preserving the cleanliness, greenery and environment of Islamabad”.

CDA Environment Member Sanaullah Aman told the gathering that the second phase of the campaign will commence from March 27 and the third phase from April 15. He said a tree plantation drive, which is integral part of the ongoing drive, will be initiated from March 5.
