PESHAWAR: The federal and provincial governments have been directed by the Peshawar High Court to submit replies regarding ‘missing persons’ from Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and the tribal areas in the next hearing. A two member-bench comprising Chief Justice Mian Fasiul Mulk and Justice Qaiser Rashid gave the orders on Wednesday while hearing 98 petitions filed by families of missing persons. Lawyer Ziaul Haq informed the bench that Jehangir was arrested with suicide jackets on November 21, 2012. Police later held a news conference and presented him in front of the media. Haq added that Jehangir’s whereabouts remain unknown since then. The IGP was ordered to provide a list of policemen who displayed him in front of the media. Expressing displeasure over the matter, the bench directed the IGP to submit a report at the next hearing on March 18.
