Dera bugti tragedy: Landmine kills woman, injures 7

Official says rescuers reached spot after half an hour & shifted injured to District Headquarters Hospital Dera Bugti.

QUETTA: A woman died and seven other sustained injuries after their vehicle hit a landmine in the Zainkoh area of Bugti Tribal Territory in the early hours of Sunday. According to the assistant commissioner Sui, Qasim Nadeem Bugti, a pickup carrying women was coming from a wedding party when it hit a landmine planted by unknown miscreants. “The pickup overturned after the blast,” he said. Another official said rescuers reached the spot after half an hour of the incident and shifted the injured to the District Headquarters Hospital Dera Bugti, where a woman was pronounced dead on arrival. Seven other women were said to be critically injured. No one immediately claimed responsibility for the attack.
