LAHORE:

An additional district and sessions judge on Saturday sought comments from Factory Area station house officer by January 8 in a petition filed by a sub inspector seeking a case against him for implicating a constable in a fake case.

Sub Inspector Muhammad Rashid told the court that he headed the police picket at the Punjab Society. He said his team arrested Siddiq Masih on December 27 and recovered six liquor bottles from him. He said Masih was taken to a police lockup. He said Factory Area SHO Nasir Hanif asked him to release Masih. He said when he refused, the SHO threatened him with dire consequences. He said on December 29, he went on a leave. He said in his absence, the SHO raided the picket, broke the locks of his drawer and stole 10 pistols, Rs206,000, perfumes and clothes. He said Constable Muhammad Arshad, another colleague, was also implicated in a false case by the SHO. The SHO in his FIR says that the constable had been selling drugs in the Punjab Society and that six liquor bottles had been recovered from him.
