AJKLA-22 by-poll: PPP gives ticket to former minister’s son

The son of Azad Jammu and Kashmir’s former Minister for Agriculture will contest by-elections for AJK Legislative Assembly (AJKLA-22) seat from Sudhnuti, Poonch-VI constituency.


The ruling Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has nominated Sardar Fahim Akhtar Rubbani to contest the by-polls for the LA-22 seat which was left vacant after the death of his father Sardar Akhtar Hussain Rabbani on Dec 25.


President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Sardar Muhammad Yaqoob Khan on Tuesday made announcement during his visit to Chookiyan Baloch, some 200 kilometers off here where he had gone to offer condolence Rabbani’s death with his family.


The president said the decision to give the ticket to the late minister’s son had been taken during the PPP Azad Kashmir parliamentary party meeting at Naudero House Larkana, presided by Asif Zardari on December 28.
