For commuters’ relief: ‘Illegally’ charged parking sites to be eliminated

Sharjeel Memon directed the local government secretary and the KMC administrator to remove these sites.

All illegally charged car and motorcycle parking sites must be removed, said Sindh Information and Local Government Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon.

He directed the local government secretary and the Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC) administrator to remove these sites and make sure that the money-minting businesses comes to an end.

The minister said that the contractors of these sites overcharge the poor commuters to make money and directed stern action against those involved in illegally charging at the sites. He asked for the maintenance of prescribed and approved parking fee at all parking sites. The contracts should be revoked immediately of those who overcharge, he further directed.
