KARACHI: Intelligence agencies have prepared a list of as many as 427 suspects behind the unrest in the city, The Express Tribune has learnt.

According to officials privy to the matter, this list includes names of activists belonging to Muttahida Qaumi Movement, Awami National Party, Lyari gang war, Kutchi Rabita Committee, the outlawed Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan and other sectarian and militants outfits.

The Karachi police have sent the list to the Sindh government to put the reward money for the arrest of these suspects, both alive or dead. The minimum head money is Rs500,000. “This is still under discussion and the government has yet to announce if there will be head money or not,” said adviser to home ministry Sharfuddin Memon.  At a law and order meeting later in the day, the chief minister announced the reward money.

“The intelligence agencies have prepared this list and given us the task of arresting these suspects,” explained District Central police chief DIG Javed Odho, adding that Karachi deserves peace. He went on to say that the list is of those criminals who are behind the unrest in Karachi and are involved in terrorism activities. At a meeting with SITE Association of Trade and Industries members, Karachi police chief said they have a list of 500 target killers affiliated with the political parties.
