Accusing Jamaat-e-Islami of having ties with militant groups, Muttahida Qaumi Movement chief Altaf Hussain demanded that the federal government ban the party.
“The Jamaat-e-Islami has strong links with the al Qaeda and the Taliban. Its activists are being killed in drone attacks. Therefore, cases should be initiated against the party and it should be banned,” said Altaf Hussain, addressing a general workers’ meeting at the Lal Qila ground, Karachi, on Tuesday.
The party leader accused JI’s chief Munawar Hasan of being the first in charge of the infamous thunder squad and said that he was close to the TTP’s slain chief Hakimullah Mehsud.
During Altaf Hussain’s speech, the party workers distributed a list of activists associated with the Jamaat-e-Islami and its student wing Islami Jamiat-e-Talaba, who were either killed in drone attacks or were arrested in different terrorist activities. Referring to the ruckus created by IJT students in Lahore, Altaf said that they were released without any charges a day after being arrested. “The Jamiat does as it pleases and no one takes any action against them.”
Meanwhile, expressing displeasure over the current targeted operation in Karachi, the MQM chief warned that if discrimination did not end against them, and if Mohajirs got out of his hands, the entire armed forces in the country would not be able to control them.
Altaf said that because of the targeted operation, thousands of his workers could not sleep at night as they were being indiscriminately picked up.
The MQM chief said that the party should not be considered an enemy of the state. “Mohajirs have not yet demanded separation and we don’t want to demand this. Our ancestors created the country and we want to save and protect it.”

Who cares, PMLn do have soft corner for TTP....... So what......!!!!!
why allways talk when situation is calm and tries to creat rift. he is great fitnah maker in London with farangi blessed roof.
There is no need to ban the JI as this action will give undue importance and raise the statutre of JI. Historically speaking the pakistani nation neither gave any importance to the politics of Ji nor its interpretation of Islam. The party was founded in 1941 5 year later than Muslim League. It could win only 4 seats of NA in 1970 election and after 40 long years in 2013, it could agin win only 4 NA seats. Thx to Mullah Military alliance in general election of 2002 JI could govern KPK as junior partner of JUI. In 2013 election with 8 seats in KPK it is again a junior partner of PTI. Not only in pakistn JI's performance is equally poor in India, Bangladesh AK and J&K..the conclusion is evident that JI has little support among the masses and the people understand its hyprocrtic political and religious face. what else is needed to be said when Haider Farooq Modoodi, the son of Moulana Moododi himself says that JI is a fascist party whose childern in East Pak Alshms and Albadr were involved in the human atrocities and mascare in that part of united Pakistan and whose another child IJT is involved in terriorist activities in the educational institutions of pakistan. Leaders of JI should open their eyes and realize how the entire nation rejected the recent fatwa of their amir who is devoid of any vision and sagacity and todate Ji leaders are finding it dificult to defend his rehtorics.
I think Mr. Altaf hussain bitterness with JI is very obvious. I think attaching any one to Al-Qaida or Taliban is nothing but to get the attention of US and West. This has become a profitable business since Musharraf started this business. Numerous people with the allegation of Al-qiada ot taliban links being nabbed and handed over to US.
to be honest with every body here if the shelter keep providing them in karachi so wat i predicted is that karachi will be same like kpk or might be worst then it..
He is right. JI is bent upon taking away MQM dominated areas so they can start their own 'Bhatta Khori' business, we Karachiwalas will never pay extortion to anyone but MQM, the only true political party that holds the support of majority Karachiites.
My grandfather predicted that one day the people who migrated from India will demand their own country.
Altaf Hussain is now feeling the pressure of Mohajir nationalism on the rise again in Karachi. Small groups are now openly advocating for the establishment of an independent country for the Mohajirs, and the MQM is feeling the pressure.
Only Altaf bhai has courage to speak like this consistently !! Appreciate what needs to be appreciated !
@Ninja will never apologize to this army , dream on !
"If Mohajirs got out of his hands, the entire armed forces in the country would not be able to control them." Political Weather Forecast: A rain of apology to army is on it way from London, will hit Pakistan in next few days.
apart from this they also provide shelter to them in karachi and in punjab it is proven in the talk shows said by their leader that osama bin laden is also shaheed.
I am looking forward for official stance of JI against that statement. I don't what is the result of that saga will.
Strong attempts by Altaf bhai to divert attention from Mustafa Kamal case
