A consumer court on Tuesday issued bailable arrest warrants for the proprietor of a bookshop accused of delaying the transfer of an amount sent to the petitioner via Easy Paisa.
The petitioner has sought Rs100,000 as damages for causing him embarrassment.
Mazhar Ali said that one of his clients had sent him Rs10,000 from Multan via Easy Paisa. He said that he went to collect the amount from Wiky Book Shop but Wiky, the proprietor, told him to return in a few hours.
Ali said when he returned to the shop, Wiky asked him to come later. Ali said he finally received his money after two days.
He said that Wiky’s negligence had damaged his reputation with his client. He asked the court to direct the proprietor to pay him Rs100,000 as damages. The court issued a notice to the proprietor. After he failed to show up in court, the court then issued the warrants.
The respondent could not be reached for a comment.
