The Lahore High Court on Monday expressed displeasure with the city district government for not regularising the services of 250 contractual employees.
Justice Khalid Mahmood Khan was hearing petitions moved by the employees.
The petitioners’ counsel said the city had not implemented the court’s orders to regularise their services.
A law officer representing the city district government informed the court that a notification about regularising services of the 250 employees had not been issued due to two holidays. The court expressed displeasure with the statement. The judge remarked that if the chief minister could work during holidays, so could the district coordination officers. The court granted the government a week’s time to implement the order.
