Ensuring security: Police facilitation desk to be set up at FCCI office

Law enforcement agency to work with businessmen in commercial hub.

FAISALABAD: Commissioner Faisalabad Division Sardar Akram Javed on Tuesday announced setting up of a police facilitation desk at the office of Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCI) and said all available resources will be utilised for development projects in Faisalabad in collaboration with FCCI.

Speaking at a function at the FCCI office, he appreciated the FCCI’s efforts for launching various development projects in the city, which will consequently help settle problems faced by trade and industry. However, he emphasised that the approach needs to be institutionalized in order for them to be sustainable.

He also said that measures will be taken to remove any encroachments to overcome lawlessness in the city, and resolve all other problems that the business community is facing.



City Police Officer Faisalabad Dr Haider Ashraf also assured security to the life and property of businessmen. He recognized the importance of the FCCI as a dynamic body.

He said that they are seeking improvements in the law enforcement body through better information technology system along with an upgrade in the police website, email and social media. He also said that more CCTV cameras will be installed in prominent places in the city including Canal Road, and the old CCTV cameras will be replaced.

FCCI president Engineer Suhail Bin Rashid said Faisalabad is contributing 50% of the total national textile exports. In his address he put forth suggestions to initiate work on the Faisalabad Metro Bus Service Project, shifting of Gat Wala Toll Plaza to Khurianwala outskirts, construction of more green belts and parks in the city, removing encroachments, construction of children hospital, and upgrade of civil hospital to medical college.
