Tip-off prompts bomb scare

The Police, after receiving information about an explosion, searched the area on Mall Road but did not find anything.

LAHORE: The police after searching the area around Pearl Continental Hotel on Mall Road in Lahore, said that they did not find anything relating to an explosion, on Thursday.

According to Express 24/7 correspondent Shiraaz Hasnaat, the police had received information on their wireless about an explosion in the area. However, when they, along with rescue teams, searched the area they did not find any evidence of such activity.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Pervaiz Butt confirmed that the police had cleared the area around PC, and were now searching the Government Officers Residence (GOR) near the hotel, but the situation was under control.
