Chairman General Tyre, Gen (Retd) Ali Kuli Khan Khattak, has said that company plans to set up a manufacturing plant in northern Pakistan.
He was addressing a gathering to commemorate 50 years of General Tyres. “General Tyre and Rubber Company alone contributed around Rs16.5 billion to the national exchequer in three decades and emerged as the leading and most trusted tyre brand of the country,” he added.
Chief Executive General Tyre Shahid Hussain said that 50 years are just the beginning of a new era. It is pertinent to mention here that General Tyre, while showing confidence in Pakistan’s market, invested Rs500 million in motorcycle tyre production and plant enhancement early this year, which also created job opportunities in this recessionary period.
