MIRANSHAH: Mortar shells fired from Afghanistan’s side of the border landed in North Waziristan on Thursday, but fortunately no human loss was reported in the incident. A security official said 10 mortar shells, fired from an undisclosed location in Afghanistan at around 7am, landed in the mountainous region of Bangi Dar in Ghulam Khan tehsil, around 12 kilometres north of Miranshah, the agency’s headquarters. On Tuesday, a rocket fired from the western side of the Pak-Afghan border landed in Mamond, Bajaur Agency. Despite concern voiced by Pakistani authorities over repeated incidents of cross-border attacks, such incidents continue unabated.
