ISLAMABAD:

President Mamnoon Hussain has urged the stakeholders including government and non-governmental organisations, producers and service providers to involve consumers, civil society and media in raising awareness about international standards.

The president stated this in his message on the World Standards Day, being observed on October 14.

The World Standards Day this year is being observed with the theme ‘International Standards Ensure Positive Change.’

Mamnoon Hussain hoped this theme “would highlight the importance of maintaining international standards at a time when quality of products and environmental impacts are the major concerns world across.”

He said that the day reminded the need to ensure quality of products, services and processes in conformity with the internationally recognised standards.

The industry and service providers need to observe standards to fulfil international obligations, besides winning confidence of the consumers.
