A section of the press reported the incident which caught the court's attention. The Nation reported that the son of an influential landlord was involved in the case.
The complaint cell of the LHC directed the District and Sessions Judge Gujranwala to probe into the matter and submit a detailed report regarding steps taken by the local police along with his own comments.
According to reports, a woman, resident of village Noshera Virkan was going to work in the fields with her young daughter. The primary suspect, Khalil, son of influential landlord Kashmira, stopped them with his accomplices and forcibly took them to his house.
The woman alleged that the accused tied her with a rope, gang-raped her daughter and fled when she fell unconscious.
The mother also claimed that she took her daughter to the police station but no complaint was lodged, nor was the victim able to get a medical examination.
CPO Gujranwala suspended the negligent officials present and ordered that a case be registered against the accused.

So many rape cases have been reported recently and not a single action has been taken on any. This is our country, where rapists of an innocent 5-year old roam free!
Tribune shouldn't open these highly charged news items for comment.
Rapes were always happening in Pakistan. 95% of the rapes dont get reported. It is only now after incidents in India getting media coverage and public outrage we have started reporting. Pakistanis are under the impression that we are a pure Islamic country where everyone prays five times a day, there are no rapes, people dont drink alcohol and homosexuality and bisexuality is not there. Looks like we just dont want to accept the reality.
Till police is not punished severely for not taking attention rather not registering a case, nothing is going to change.
While the investigation is going on, govt should confiscate all the land and physical assets of this family. Freeze all the bank accounts if they have any. Bring them down to earth. The police officer who refused to enter FIR must be fired from his post . No retirement benefits and put him in jail for next ten yrs in solitary confinement
Please keep running such stories. Maybe highlighting the issue will instill fear in perpetrators.

I agree with your comment. By the way what is "ETBLOGS1987" ?
A shameful act. Suppression of women is to be condemned everywhere ,and in any shape. One thing I am not sure,if it is a mistake in the news-it says it was one man,and then it says gang-raped.Any explanation?
Waderay Ka Beta ..... He can murder your son and brother, he can rape your daughter and sister,
The landlord is PTI worker..
Fear not, good Slaves! Shahrukh Jatoi to the Rescue!!

@Pak: //another India is in making …. shame on us//Ha Ha Ha Ha.Your comment is very funny. But truth is bitter..isnt it??
@gp65: You are right.
The holistic solution starts with instilling the respect for God given human rights, starting with treating others as equal. It boils down to doing to others as one would like to be done to him/her self.

@Khurram Malik: "These events are happening on a daily basis but now media has started to highlight them. I commend the media for such actions"
You are exactly right. If there is a problem, it is better to acknowledge it, so that the national dialog can occur to solve the problem. Rape is a horrendous crime agains women and thee needs to be a holistic solution that includes, better policing, review of investigation rocedures when rape is reported, review of evidentiary requirements needed for conviction (since the current 1% conviction rate for rape cases is dismal) and finally of course a change in mindset in society that brings dishonor to family of rapists rather than rape victim..
Justice will not come to Pakistan, till the true laws of our faith are implemented completely(laws with respect to both mercy and punishment).
in the end ...money and power and threat will win.........
These people don't deserve to be call a human.
"May Allah mercy on us and show us to right path "
These events are happening on a daily basis but now media has started to highlight them. I commend the media for such actions and also someday kindly took notice of the young Conductors in trucks and buses as well as I have worked with one NGO in the past and we interviewed various children working in Trucking industry and rape and sodomy with children is a very common phenomenon in our transport and trucking industry as well,
another India is in making .... shame on us
